Incrementally Updating
Mathematics and Cheese » Devlog
Things are moving along more rapidly as I get more comfortable with Godot and now that the game has an established baseline of sorts.
- We’ve leapt into the “Mathematics” portion of “Mathematics and Cheese” now! Instead of picking raw numbers, the game will present equations you have to solve in order to score points.
- As a result, you now get more time! 60 seconds instead of 30!
- On the topic of scoring, consecutive streaks will now award bonus points! Scoring overall has been changed around. Expect to beat those high scores! There’ll be more to come in the future as well.
- The reticle is now the color of Bluey, and has been actually drawn and (slightly) animated!
- The main menu now has a very math-y background, complete with parallex scrolling!
- You can now pause the game mid-gameplay! Remind yourself of what the controls are, and have the option to return to the main menu.
- There’s now a “How to Play” screen at the start of the game, which also shows the controls, and reveals a bit of what we’re all doing here in this game. Helping a certain blue mouse out, of course!
The second half of this game’s name should appear in future updates. A mouse has to have cheese after all.
